Haridwar Landslide – Haridwar was thrown into chaos on Monday when a massive Haridwar landslide hit near the Kali Mata Temple and Bhimgoda tunnel. In just seconds, rocks and soil crashed down the hill and swallowed the railway tracks.
Trains Frozen on the Route
The busy Dehradun–Haridwar line was shut down at once. The landslide ripped through the iron nets that were meant to guard the tracks. Passengers were left waiting in panic as trains were stopped mid-route.
Locals Say “It Felt Like the Hill Exploded” Eyewitnesses described it as terrifying as A loud roar filled the air before the mountain gave way. “It was like the hill exploded. We ran without looking back,” said a local shopkeeper.
Rescue Teams Rush, But the Scene is a Mess
Railway workers and machines moved in fast, but the debris was massive. Boulders the size of cars lay across the tracks as Officials warned that trains will not run until the line is fully safe.
The Scary Part? This Happened Before
Shockingly, this is the second landslide in the same belt in just a month. Pilgrims visiting Mansa Devi and Kali Mata Temple now fear more disasters. “Every visit feels risky now,” said a devotee.
Big Questions, Few Answers
Why do these landslides keep hitting the same spot? Locals are demanding better nets, stronger walls, and early warning systems. Until then, people say lives are at risk every single day.
