Big Boost for Pilgrims Kedarnath Ropeway on the Way

Dehradun, Uttarakhand – The government has given Adani Enterprises the go-ahead to build a ₹4,081 crore ropeway between Sonprayag and Kedarnath. The Kedarnath Ropeway Project, spanning 12.9 km, will reduce travel time from nearly 9 hours of trekking to just 36 minutes. It will offer a huge relief to lakhs of pilgrims every year.

The project will be carried out under the Government of India’s Parvatmala scheme. Once ready, the ropeway will carry around 1,800 passengers per hour in each direction. Which making the yatra safer, faster, and more comfortable.

Gautam Adani Calls It a “Bridge of Faith”
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, “This ropeway is more than an engineering project. It connects faith with modern infrastructure. By making this sacred journey faster and safer, we honour the devotion of millions and create new opportunities for Uttarakhand.”

Boost for Tourism and Jobs
Officials confirmed the project will create direct and indirect jobs, boost local businesses, and increase tourism across the region. Officials expect the ropeway to take six years to complete. After construction, Adani Enterprises will operate it for 29 years.
