Sawariya Seth Mandir Chandra Grahan – Devotees planning to visit Shri Sawariya Seth Mandir on Chandra Grahan, September 7, will face a rare disruption. The temple will remain closed after 12 PM due to the total lunar eclipse (Chandra Grahan).

Darshan Hours Limited
The temple’s Chief Executive Officer and Additional District Collector, Prabha Gautam, confirmed the decision. According to scriptures and tradition, maintaining the temple’s sanctity during the eclipse is essential and As a result, devotees can visit the temple only until 12 PM and After that, the temple doors will be closed, and no one will be allowed inside.

Why Darshan Is Stopped
The lunar eclipse starts at 9:58 PM on September 7 and will continue until 1:26 AM on September 8. Religious beliefs hold that negative energy increases inside the temple during eclipse hours. To prevent this, the temple administration has decided to halt darshan during the grahan period. This measure also begins 24 hours before the eclipse to protect the temple from any inauspicious effects.

Devotees’ Advisory

  • Visit the temple before 12 PM on September 7.
  • Avoid planning darshan during eclipse hours.
  • Follow temple instructions and maintain discipline during the restricted period.

A Rare Occurrence
While Purnima usually draws large crowds for worship, this year, the Chandra Grahan has forced early closure of one of Vrindavan’s most popular temples and Devotees are advised to adjust their schedules accordingly and plan visits in the morning hours.

Sawariya Seth Mandir will reopen after the eclipse, letting devotees continue their spiritual journey safely. Don’t miss morning darshan on September 7!
