Abu Dhabi – An Indian man living in Dubai was taken by surprise when he saw a Ganga Aarti at Abu Dhabi’s Hindu temple. His short video from the BAPS Mandir has gone viral and sparked a wave of reactions online.
The 24-year-old moved to the UAE only three weeks earlier. Shortly after settling into his new home, he decided to visit the temple on a free evening. What he witnessed there reminded him of India—the chants, the lamps, and the peaceful setting by the water. He shared the clip with the caption: “I witnessed Ganga Aarti in UAE.”
Daily Aarti In The Gulf
The BAPS Hindu Mandir, opened in February 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is the first traditional Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. The builders used sandstone and marble to construct the temple, following classic Indian design.
Every evening, the temple hosts a Ganga Aarti in UAE. Visitors say the experience feels almost the same as standing by the river in India.
A Cultural Bridge
The temple was built on land gifted by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which is spread across 27 acres, it has now become a landmark for Indians abroad.
The man’s video has struck an emotional chord, with many calling the temple “a piece of India in the UAE.”
