How Kainchi Dham Changed Manoj Bajpayee’s Acting Career

Uttarakhand: Manoj Bajpayee, the actor known for films like Gangs of Wasseypur and web hit The Family Man, almost walked away from acting. He revealed that a restless phase made him question if his journey in films was over. But a visit to Neem Karoli Baba’s Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand turned everything around.

The actor shared that he and director Ram Reddy visited Kainchi Dham before starting their new film Jugnuma – The Fable. Bajpayee said, “I was going through a very restless phase. I even thought maybe my time in this profession was up.” He added that he had stayed away from work for almost a year while looking for answers.

A magical moment at Babaji’s cave
On Reddy’s suggestion, they climbed to Babaji’s cave, meditated, and experienced a shift they could not explain. “We climbed for almost an hour, meditated there, and something magical happened. As we came down, both of us looked at each other and said, ‘We found the film,’” Bajpayee said.

Lessons reflected in Jugnuma
The actor explained that Jugnuma – The Fable carries the lessons he discovered at Kainchi Dham – about letting go, finding peace, and seeking freedom. He said, “That moment gave me the answers I was looking for. It was about detachment, about flying away from all attachments. I felt it deeply.”

Now, Bajpayee is back on screen with renewed energy. Fans can watch his new journey unfold in Jugnuma, a story inspired by his own spiritual experience.
