Jaipur: Monday night was full of faith and excitement at Govind Dev Ji Temple as The sky was cloudy, and light rain fell here and there. Still, devotees did not leave. Everyone waited to see the full moon on Sharad Purnima.
Inside the temple, it was lively. Thakur Shri Govind Dev Ji wore a white dress with golden border. Priests performed the Panchamrit Abhishek. The courtyard had diyas, flowers, and music. People offered garlands, paan, and perfume. A small chess and chaupar setup was also placed. Kids were watching with big eyes. Everyone was smiling and praying together.
Many people had kept bowls of kheer outside. They believed the moonlight would make it holy. When the clouds moved for a while, the silver moonlight touched the bowls. People clapped softly. They later took the kheer as prasadam, feeling lucky.
Experts say Sharad Purnima is special because the moon is very close to Earth on this night as It is said that Lord Krishna played Raas Leela and Goddess Lakshmi blesses devotees on this night. People staying awake and praying are considered lucky.
Even with rain, no one left. Bhajans continued late into the night. The Govind Dev Ji temple looked simple, bright, and holy. People were happy. Some took photos, some just sat quietly. For Jaipur, this night was not just a festival. It was a mix of faith, moonlight, and little raindrops — a moment to remember.
