Jodhpur – A brand-new BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Jodhpur is making headlines as it brings back traditional Nagara-style architecture — and builders have constructed it entirely without using cement.
The temple is made from pure Jodhpur sandstone using an interlocking stone system, reviving age-old Indian construction methods with modern precision.
Key highlights grabbing attention:
- No cement or mortar used anywhere
- Five shikhars, one main dome, and 14 smaller domes
- Built by 500+ artisans over seven years
- Spread across 42 bighas with gardens, trees, and open spaces
- Inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj and completed under Mahant Swami Maharaj
Inside the complex, visitors will find a sacred worship hall, Nilkanth Abhishek Mandapam, assembly hall, and landscaped lawns with plans for a children’s park.
With carved stone lattice walls for natural cooling and thousands of plants across the campus. The BAPS temple in Jodhpur blends heritage with sustainability.
The new Jodhpur mandir now joins the legacy of iconic BAPS sites like Akshardham in Delhi and Gandhinagar, and global centres in London and Abu Dhabi.
