Dehradun: Faith has once again brought a record-breaking crowd to the Kedarnath Yatra. Official numbers show that over 16.56 lakh devotees have already visited the temple this season. Making it one of the busiest yatras in recent years.
After weeks of rain, landslides, and snowfall slowing down the journey, the Chardham Yatra is now moving at full pace. On Wednesday alone, nearly 20,000 pilgrims reached the shrines.
Day’s Pilgrim Numbers
Kedarnath – 5,614
Badrinath – 5,042
Gangotri – 6,217
Yamunotri – 2,360
Hemkund Sahib – 498
The rush shows how quickly the yatra has bounced back after disasters in Dharali, Sayanachatti, and Tharali had left many fearing the trip would be cut short.
So far, more than 47 lakh devotees have visited the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib this season. With temple doors set to close only after Diwali, the total may soon touch 50 lakh.
The closing dates are fixed: Gangotri on October 22, Kedarnath Yatra and Yamunotri on October 23, and Badrinath on November 25. Till then, the yatra is expected to stay packed with devotees.
