The winter countdown for Badrinath Dham has officially begun, and devotees are already rushing to make plans. The Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee has confirmed that the portals of Badrinath Temple will shut on November 25 at 2:56 PM this year. which is now the official Badrinath closing date.
Temple priests and officials announced the closing date on Vijayadashami after performing a traditional ceremony. Vedic pundits and the Dharmadhikari fixed the muhurat based on panchang readings in front of temple officials. Soon after, the Rawal of Badrinath Dham publicly declared the date.
With the closure now set, many pilgrims are trying to secure travel, stay, and darshan slots before the final day. Local sources say inquiries and bookings have started picking up in nearby towns and yatra routes.
Before the portals close, the temple will hold the annual Panch Pujas. Temple authorities will finalise the timing for the ritual departure of Shri Uddhav Ji and Shri Kuber Ji to Pandukeshwar. Along with them, the seat of Adi Guru Shankaracharya and the vahan of Lord Vishnu, Shri Garud Ji, will begin their move to the Narsingh Temple at Jyotirmath, where winter prayers continue.
Badrinath is one of the main Char Dham shrines and draws huge crowds each season. With the final Badrinath closing date out, the rush is expected to grow in the coming days, as no darshan will be possible once the gates close on November 25.
If you plan to visit this season, this is the last window. After the closing ceremony, the temple will remain shut for the entire winter.
