Puri: The wait is finally over. The sacred ornaments of Lord Jagannath will be moved back to the original Ratna Bhandar of the Puri temple on September 23.
The valuables were kept in a temporary strong room in July 2024 when the Ratna Bhandar was opened after four decades for repair. With the work now complete, the ornaments will return to their rightful place.
Temple chief administrator Arabinda Padhee said the shifting will take place between 7:17 am and 11:17 am on the day. He assured that temple rituals will not stop, though darshan for devotees will be regulated.
For devotees, this is more than just shifting Jagannath ornaments. It marks the reopening of a sacred chamber that holds deep faith and history. The Ratna Bhandar, now restored, will once again guard the priceless jewellery of the Lord.
All eyes are now on September 23, when Puri witnesses a historic homecoming of Lord Jagannath’s treasures.
