Winter Closure: Kedarnath and Yamunotri Say Goodbye!

Winter Closure Kedarnath and Yamunotri Say Goodbye!

Uttarakhand – Kedarnath and Yamunotri temples are closed for winter now as Kedarnath shut at 8:30 am Thursday. Cold, but still 10,000 devotees came. They chanted, “Har Har Mahadev,” “Jai Baba Kedar.” Some were crying. Some clicked pictures.

The temple was full of flowers. Lord Kedarnath’s palanquin left for Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. It will stop at Rampur tonight, then Guptkashi, then Ukhimath on October 25.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was there. Priests, officials, and people all prayed. Bhajans played. Everyone took one last look.

Kedarnath and Yamunotri reopens April-May next year. Missed it? Plan your visit next year.
