Yamunotri Closing Date Announced — Last Darshan Alert

The winter countdown has begun for Yamunotri Dham, and the rush has already started. As per the official announcement made on Vijayadashami, the yamunotri closing date has been set, and the portals of the temple will close on October 23 for the season.

Once the shrine shuts, the idol of Goddess Yamuna will be taken to Kharsali village, where worship will continue for the next six months. This marks the traditional winter move, done every year due to heavy snowfall and blocked access in the higher region.

With the yamunotri closing date now confirmed, pilgrims are speeding up their plans. Travel bookings, local transport, and on-foot visits have jumped as devotees try to reach before the final aarti.

The Char Dham Yatra is in its last phase, and officials say footfall is still strong. This season has already seen over 45 lakh visitors across the four shrines.
