Dehradun – The demand for Kedarnath Heli Seva has touched new heights. People booked a total of 4,700 tickets within hours on the very first day of booking for travel dates from September 15 to September 22.
The online booking portal of IRCTC opened at 12 noon on Friday. By evening, buyers had already purchased most of the seats. Officials confirmed that only a small number of tickets remain for select days.
Ashish Chauhan, CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), said that UCADA has opened booking for the Kedarnath helicopter service for one full week. He stated that pilgrims booked 4,700 seats in a single day out of the total quota, showing the massive demand.
This service is part of the second phase of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. Every year, thousands of devotees prefer to fly by helicopter to save time and avoid the tough trek. The craze for Heli Seva continues to grow, as many people want a safe and quick journey to Kedarnath Dham.
With just around 300 seats still available for this week’s window, travellers are rushing to grab the remaining tickets as officials have advised devotees to book their seats only through the official IRCTC portal to avoid fraud or middlemen.
The rush for Kedarnath Heli Seva is a clear sign of how popular air travel has become for pilgrims. If the trend continues, more booking slots for later dates may also sell out within hours.
